Golly!

After having smashed what seemed like my thousandth wine glass. I picked up a heavily tarnished pair of goblets from the local cancer research charity shop (Incidentally I was greeted with some rather strange looks when I asked where the DNA sequencers and centrifuges might be, so I could assist them for an hour or two) . Tarnished indeed, the things were almost black and cool as they looked i despaired of ever using them. Step forward the wise old Mr Smith senior who upon seeing these critters absentmindedly said "a bit of Brasso and they will polish up well". His words pattered onto my head like sage raindrops onto a foolishly tiled thirsty roof. Off I trotted and purchased some of this old timer magic gunk. Dubiously and rubber gloved'ly I might add due to the noxious warnings on the tin, I applied the Baileys-like liquid as directed. Holy flippin bejesus, asByron was wont to say, look at the thing!! After some suitable rinsing I am off to quaff from it and then do the other one. It slightly numbs the pain of my thirty fifth summer approaching after all.
